It appears he was a major influence on Rude Goldberg. I therefore think naming writes for these contraptions should be his. Who or what was Heath Robinson's influences is another story. Contraption is also a far more accurate description than machine in my opinion. Americans always have to think they came up with everything! :-) Just a thought.
